Perkins School for the Blind Hosting Horticultural Therapy Institute “Fundamentals of Horticultural Therapy” class

The Horticultural Therapy Institute (HTI) is offering Fundamentals of Horticultural Therapy at Perkins School for the Blind from November 16th-19th.  This course introduces the profession and practice of horticultural therapy, which uses gardening activities in health care and human service programs.  The course describes the types of programs utilizing horticultural therapy as well as the cognitive, social, emotional and physical goals for the varied people served.  It also exposes students to resources for further exploration and to professionals in the field.  For more information on HTI or to enroll visit http://www.htinstitute.org.

A reception to welcome students is planned for Thursday, November 16th at the Horticultural Center.  Perkins staff are seeking NEHTN members to volunteer to assist with the reception.
